Everyday, men across the Austin metro area are asking themselves, “Can I wear this outside without fear of looking lame?”
A Sharp Dressed Man has heard the call from his brothers across Travis County and is here to provide an answer to all men’s fashion questions!
Dear Sharp Dressed Man: For businessmen, how do you match colored blazers to pants? – Chris R.
Greetings Chris! Great question! As I mentioned in a previous column, colors tend to go by season (Spring/Summer/Winter/Fall). So, when you think of winter, you would think dark gloomy weather. A dark suit jacket with dark jeans would be appropriate. For Spring, lighter pants (khaki) would be fine paired with a lighter colored blazer. Right now, even dark denim could work paired with a light blazer. Have fun with colors at the office this season.
Greetings Sharp Dressed Man: Why do people tend to put so much importance on the fashionableness of one’s clothing, instead of the content of their character? – Mike S.
Excellent question! I agree it is important to meet someone and get to know them. People in the fashion industry tend to only focus on the clothes one is wearing rather than getting to know the character of an individual. Fashion tends to be a shell from a person’s character.
While my main goal is here to offer men clear and direct answers about fashion, I want these men to be approached as individuals. I want to, with this column, make it clear for men it is okay to be comfortable with fashion and still love who they are. However, I must point out the obvious: fashion can aid you to look your best for any occasion! I am not here to ask you to change your look or buy a particular clothing item to make yourself happy. That is solely up to you.
