Attending holiday gatherings, finding the perfect gift for loved ones, sending out yuletide well wishes through well thought out greeting cards, tree trimmings, and decorating the home for the holidays can become overwhelming for anyone. While the personal touch is irreplaceable on some of these seasonal to dos, it is possible to hire someone to create a holiday oasis in your home. Robin Bond with Robin Bond Interiors has been in business creating holiday bliss for the busy homeowner for 7 years.
“For people who have some expendable income it can take a lot of stress off of their plate to let us come in and install the Christmas decorations they have or better yet add to what they have each year and install the decorations for them,” explains Bond.
Robin Bond recommends clients to meet with her for a complimentary hour consultation to look through the ornaments the homeowner has and decide what to keep and what to get rid of. “I find that many people have had things for years that are not necessarily sentimental and they are just flat in need of being replaced,” describes Bond. “I recommend starting with a great tree and as many of the decorations the client can afford for phase I and then continue to add decorations to the tree each year, add a nice door wreath, add a nice mantel treatment, add staircase garland with decorations and then for the final phase add some decorations to be placed throughout the house,” continues Robin Bond. She suggests items to add a little each year to keep from breaking the budget and give homeowner something to look forward to.
Robin Bond Interiors can help with holiday “to do” list inside the home. “We can install the client’s existing trees and decorations (all interior – we do not do exterior other than some nice decorations on the entry porch and a wreath),” clarifies Bond. Interior designer will come up with a holiday color scheme or theme for the client and then start building on that so that all of the holiday décor works well together. Shopping for all of the merchandise can be left to the decorating specialist or the client can shop with them to purchase everything. “We also recommend letting us install the job, since there is a system for making a Christmas tree look great and for adding special touches to mantels or staircases. It takes us on average 4 hours to decorate a 7.5 foot tree and to shop for one is typically no more than a couple of hours. A tree is a great starting point. Just like home decorating, I think less is more when it comes to Christmas Decorating. Start out with a great tree and then add a few things each year,” says Bond.
