On May 15th, an estimated 200 companies and 600 students/candidates from 8 area colleges will attend the nation’s first Citywide Internship Fair at the AT&T Conference Center with the purpose of connecting students and start-ups, small businesses, and nonprofits in Austin looking for an internship/intern this summer. The “Connect” event will be from 2:00-4:00 PM in the ballroom, beginning with a brief training by Constant Contact on the benefits of an intern on Social Media.
“Austin has one of the greatest untapped business resources in the nation-a large student population. The purpose of InterninAustin is to help the local employers of Central Texas have the same access to this educated and energetic resource as the national companies that recruit at our great institutions. In return, we expect you will provide a unique educational experience for our students that will help them build their résumé, network, and career plans after graduation.” Mayor Lee Leffingwell.
For businesses thinking of hiring an intern this summer InternInAustin is a single source employer with access to all the resources needed to create an effective internship program. The InternInAustin program is powered by campus2careers and sponsored by the Austin Mayor’s Office, all local chambers, nonprofit associations, and more.
