M83: I’ve been waiting awhile to see these guys live, and it was well worth the wait, they sounded absolutely amazing. You could not only feel the energy from the stage, but could also see it being transfer to the crowd. Will definitely be checking these guys out again in the future.
Ra Ra Riot: This was the band I was most excited to see going into the festival. I have seen them 5 times now and they never disappoint me. I am such a sucker for any group that can effectively find a way to use not only a violin, but a cello as well. I always forget how incredible they sound live. This group has such a full sound that seems to sink into my bones and shake my soul in a way that makes me just fall in love with them a little more each time I see them.
Major Lazer: If you were looking for a dance party, this was the place to be Saturday night of FFF. By the time these guys left the stage, I was drenched in sweat and ready for someone to carry me home.
Passion Pit: I’ve seen these guys a few times, so while they were not #1 on my list, they were definitely still in my top 5. The show was great. They performed a good mix of new and old material and really connected with the crowd in a way that I hadn’t seen in past shows –definitely the high point of Friday night.
Big Freedia: This by far was the most entertaining act I saw during FFF. I haven’t seen that much booty clappin on a stage since Jay-Z Spring Break 2000. Words cannot explain what pictures can, see below:
