The resort is characterized by contemporary African décor and exudes an ambience of warmth and welcome. Stone and wooded textures and earth tones create an unexpected contrast to the colors of the surrounding wild landscape.

Pezula is, in essence, a celebration of all of the African elements with hints of Bali visible in the overhanging roofs and sliding shutters. Each of the 78 suites, including the two presidential rooms, has been designed to be indulgent and completely private. In all suites, sandstone forms a backdrop to real log fireplaces, while marble is prevalent on many floors, patios and balconies. Past a rock-faced wall of trickling water doused with moss and ferns, the Pezula Spa emerges. The enchanting space is home to a waterfall that cascades into a 12-meter indoor heated pool with a majestic view. The spa has nine different therapy rooms and offers a comprehensive range of treatments and therapies combining natural treatments with the most technologically advanced equipment. The treatment products incorporate ingredients and essential essences garnered from the indigenous fynbos of the Western Cape. Uniquely African, the Matombo massage and Muwuri body scrub will take your breath away.

Complementing the serenity of the spa, the gym is a vibrant, energetic space surrounded with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and lagoon. The Technogym, a world class facility, is superbly equipped with state-of-the-art training machines that personalize workouts to suit any athlete. Trainers are available onsite as well. The sauna, steam room, jacuzzi or rain forest showers are the perfect way to conclude any session. A sun bed, hair salon, nail studio and juice bar are part of the establishment, too.

Those wishing to engage in solitary or group activities have many choices as well. The game room is a comfortable haven for the chess master or the beginner while the library provides a quiet space for literary contemplation and exploration. The champagne bar, whiskey bar and cigar lounge are a connoisseur’s dream come true. World-class brands are the standard and each possesses selections that will delight any palate. For the executive tending to business matters, a fully equipped conference facility is situated in a separate wing of the hotel.

The “Field of Dreams” provides a venue for outdoor recreation such as tennis, cricket, golf, archery, petanque, horseback riding, walking trails, canoeing and water sports on the beach. The sports enthusiast will be thrilled to ride through forests while golfers will be delighted with more than 20 golf courses available within driving distance of Knysna.
The 6,355-yard Pezula Golf Club is perched above the Indian Ocean and the Knysna lagoon. It is a sweeping spectacle of fairways and greens rolling through a pristine southern cape landscape with mesmerizing flora and unforgettable vistas. Upon arrival you will find your name on your club cart and locker. This is an excellent detail considering the course is primarily for member play. Access is granted to visitors on a space-available basis.

The course is both a challenging and rewarding experience. Golf course architects Ron Fream and David Dale of GolfPlan USA have sculptured an incredibly diverse coastal terrain into a course that offers all players a total golfing experience. The course will require players to use a full range of shots throughout their round.

The stylishly appointed Pezula Clubhouse includes a terrace, restaurant, bar, plush private lounge with library and a boutique pro shop. A heated pool, short game practice area, tennis court and leisure facility are also available to members and guests. A limited number of equity-based shares are available entitling holders to membership of the prestigious Pezula Country Club and use of its world-class facilities. A share in Pezula Club Limited is a fully tradable asset. Annual subscriptions allow shareholders to enjoy no green fees, reduced rates for accompanied guests and preferential and personal treatment at all club facilities.

After working up an appetite, Zachary’s gourmet restaurant is sure to tantalize the taste buds with fresh ingredients and delight the senses with eye-catching presentations. Executive Chef Geoffrey Murray is responsible for Zachary's. The menu offers a variety of 'modern ethnic' dishes which feature local organic products. Dishes, inspired by Murray’s worldwide experience, are given an original twist and the menu changes constantly.

The union of food and wine is an important factor at Zachary's. The Pezula Wine Cellar offers more than a thousand fine wines, most of which are limited edition handcrafted wines. The vast collection of mostly South African boutique wines, as well as the variety of imported whiskies and champagnes, will ensure there's a perfect accompaniment to every meal.
